Ben Boeckx
With years of experience, training at Berklee College of Music and a passion for personal teaching, I can help you progress, whether you are learning your first chord or want to refine your technique in your favorite musical style.

My name is Ben, professional guitarist and teacher, born and raised in Antwerp, Wilrijk. At the age of 12 I learned to play my first chords and riffs of NIrvana on the acoustic guitar. Later, at the age of 16, I was introduced to the electric guitar and my father gave me a combo guitar set. When I learned to use my first effects shortly after and noticed that I could imitate the sound of my favorite bands, the ball really started rolling.
Initially, chord grips were a major challenge. Some grips seemed impossible to achieve in the short term and musical passages that I wanted to play just wouldn't flow. I still recognize that frustration in many beginners, and that makes me perfectly empathize with their learning process.
Over the years my musical taste changed regularly, from heavy metal to baroque, from silent periods to intense practice sessions. After my bachelor in business administration I decided to focus even more on my instrument. I practiced for hours every day and immersed myself in blues, ragtime fingerpicking, neoclassical rock and metal rhythm and lead guitar.
I played in several bands, including the Irish folk and bluegrass band Medra, and the cover band Nediam Nori. In addition, as a guitarist I often played with others under the radar, for fun, but always instructive. I have also worked regularly with students for the recordings of their own written songs.
After an extensive education at Berklee College of Music, and experience as both a rhythm and solo guitarist in various styles, my mission is clear: I want to help everyone who is passionate about music to take their guitar playing to the next level with a personal lesson program. In this way, we avoid a lot of frustration and loss of time, and it is simply about having fun with music again.
